First International Conference - SFB 796
Mechanisms of viral host cell manipulation:
From plants to humans

Suche

October 2 - 4 , 2011
Welcome Kongresshotel, UNESCO World Heritage Bamberg, Germany

The aim of the conference is to provide novel insights into the dynamic interplay between viruses and host cells by comparing the intrinsic responses of plant and human cells as well as the mechanisms of viral host cell manipulation. Although human and plant viruses appear quite different at the first glance, the underlying basic concepts in pathogen-host interaction are expected to be rather similar, rendering a comparative approach highly appealing. Therefore, we would like to bring together scientists working in different fields and to encourage interdisciplinary discussions and stimulate new research projects or directions.

Scientific Main Topics:

  • Manipulation of transport processes
  • Manipulation of nuclear processes
  • Subversion of innate defense mechanisms
  • Role of small RNAs in virus-host interaction
  • Focus on HIV
